From local to global in just two days!
Only two days after the launch of Jobmax.co.uk the first overseas jobs arrived – from Australia, advertising legal jobs in Dubai!
Jobmax is still the “young pretender” in the job board market, but much has happened in the two months since launch in August. Jobmax was originally planned as a regional portal for the East of England to support consultancy services. However within the first two days on-line the decision had to be made – restrict growth or respond to demand. So Jobmax became global with jobs from Australia, followed by Germany, Cyprus Greece and Spain. It is still early days but the future is certainly looking exciting (any offers for the opening of the Southern European office?)
Still very much focussed on the UK growth has been consistently above expectation. Director Sue Griffin says “Work continues with optimisation, due for completion late October in order to improve rankings and put Jobmax firmly amongst its peers. Ongoing links with a job dissemination site means that our customers get double exposure, attracting attention from a far greater audience, designed to attract select candidates and bringing the results we are all looking for”
With broad sector specialisation Jobmax is regarded as a generalist board. Sue comments “Trying to create a niche in the market with a generalist board is almost a contradiction in terms. However almost without intervention Jobmax is doing that for itself. Many of the larger boards have gone for volume – more candidates and jobs than the opposition to create leverage and increased traffic. Because Jobmax does not subscribe to a job distribution service where recruiters place their vacancies on multiple sites (and therefore if you follow the thought logically all the large boards will contain inevitable duplication of jobs) the opportunities that Jobmax hosts for its customers will stand out from the crowd. So if you want to get noticed Jobmax is the place to go!. Small and bijou really can be beautiful! “
The site still remains free to use for recruiters and candidates for the time being. With service enhancements, including the addition of temporary, interim and contract jobs, additional content and ongoing investment the future looks bright for Jobmax.
