| Project Accountant – Life Insurance (6 month contract) Role Purpose: Responsible for implementing the recommendations of a review of the processes in the Life Finance department Principal Accountabilities: The jobholder will be responsible for the closure of all the actions on the finance report Support to business improvement projects from a financial aspect Implementing the findings of a head office review of the Finance function Improving key processes & controls Improving the monthly reconciliation process Assisting with embedding the accounting processes for new products Working with the Regional Finance team to implement best practices Liaise with auditors, both internal and external, as necessary Delivery of the recommendations in a timely fashion Accurate and timely financial reporting with no audit concerns or issues on reconciliation Working within the wider accounting and management framework to implement recommendations which consistently meet the existing and emerging local and international financial reporting requirements Continued review of processes and procedures, ensuring efficiencies and compliance to highest level. Maintain internal control standards including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by auditors Continually reassess the risks inherent in the operations taking account of internal and external environments Knowledge and Experience: Qualified accountant with at least 3 years post qualification experience, including experience in the Life Insurance Industry. Excellent understanding of financial accounting and internal control systems Strong knowledge of emerging accounting requirements both local and international High quality planning and organisational skills with a proven track record in delivery to agreed timetables Experience in audit and review processes. Strong project management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral communication Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish productive relationships at senior and executive management level. |
