A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the Newport area to work for an international brand. The role is newly created due to an increase in workload and as a result is being offered initially on a temporary to permanent capacity.
Working and reporting into the Finance Manager on daily basis you will be the second in command. Helping to manage a team of 10 and deal with their day to day queries and issues that may arise is a key part of the role as this will alleviate some of the workload from the Finance Manager. The role is varied and requires the successful candidate to liaise with non-financial managers on a regular basis in order to provide financial advice and guidance on the project costing and valuing side of the business.
Key responsibilities will vary greatly from assisting with all month end procedures, to creating a margin improvement plan. The role will heavily focus on cost analysis, stripping all projects down to the basics, analysing the labour/plant costs and liaising with site and project managers to come up with spend v`s value projections.
The role requires a Qualified by Experience candidate who has had previous exposure to costing projects and is commercially minded. The role is reactive and therefore requires an individual who can take the initiative, work to extremely tight deadlines and supervise and liaise with strong characters throughout the business. You will be numerical in approach, possess excellent communication skills and be fully conversant in Microsoft Excel to Intermediate stage. There will be occasional travel therefore a car driver is essential for this role.
Hours of work are 8.30am - 4.45pm Monday - Friday however, especially at month end you will be required to work additional hours in order to get the job done. My client is seeking an immediate starter therefore if you are free for work and ticks the above boxes, please contact the office NOW!
